Hello, I’m Yang (Reiten) Cheng. Coming from a family of carpenters and tailors, I was the kid that was a challenge to teachers, inquisitive, asking tons of questions, wanting to get to the root of everything. Passion for physics, making, building, and invention led me to Mechanical Engineering in college. Craving a more hands-on approach, I discovered Industrial Design.

As an Industrial Designer, I merge design and engineering in order to create inventions that enhance our relationship with physical objects. Taking a magnifying glass to the user journey, I uncover the fundamental reasons that cause dissatisfaction with products. Blending analytics, mechanics, and human factors, I approach the iterative process of prototyping and testing with a commitment to alleviating pain points. Through design, I want to invent solutions that create a more refined relationship with the objects we interact with daily.
